Titolo Progetto: “Gestione della relazione uomo-animale e qualità della vita in ambiente urbano: la ricerca su aspetti etologici e socio-economici”
Abstract: “La relazione uomo-animale è un ambito multidisciplinare che si inserisce all’interno dell’approccio “One health”, il quale ha lo scopo di progettare ed implementare programmi, politiche ed indirizzare la ricerca in modo tale che settori diversi comunichino e lavorino insieme per ottenere risultati migliori in materia di salute pubblica. Allo stesso tempo, Il legame uomo animale è definito, come una relazione dinamica e mutualmente benefica tra persone e animali ed include l’interazione con l’ambiente.
La relazione uomo animale in ambito urbano è stata scarsamente studiata, esistono diversi filoni di ricerca che investigano principalmente i benefici apportati dall’ interazione con il pet (sia essa con un animale di proprietà o all’interno di interventi assistiti con gli animali), e l’assenza di specifiche politiche per animali in città.
Lo scopo del progetto di dottorato è quello di valutare le tipologie di relazione uomo-animale che si possono instaurare in ambiente urbano e i fattori socio-demografici che la influenzano (genere, età, situazione economia); Valutare l’impatto dei diversi tipi di gestione del pet sul benessere e la qualità della vita di persone e pet.
Ci aspettiamo di Individuare i fattori che migliorano la relazione uomo-animale e la gestione dei pet in ambiente urbano, nonché di avviare e monitorare progetti che utilizzino i suddetti fattori per valutare la salute e il benessere delle persone e la loro qualità di vita.”
Project title: “Management of the human-animal relationship and quality of life in an urban environment: research on ethological and socio-economic aspects”
Abstract: “The human-animal relationship is a multidisciplinary area that is part of the “One health” approach, which aims to design and implement programs, policies and direct research in such a way that different sectors communicate and work together to achieve better public health outcomes. At the same time, the human-animal bond is defined as a dynamic and mutually beneficial relationship between people and animals and includes the interaction with the environment.
The human-animal relationship in the urban environment has been poorly studied, there are different lines of research that mainly investigate the benefits brought about by the interaction with the pet (be it with an owned animal or within assisted interventions with animals), and the absence of specific policies for animals in the city.
The aim of the PhD project is to evaluate the types of human-animal relationship that can be established in an urban environment and the socio-demographic factors that influence it (gender, age, economic situation); Evaluate the impact of the different types of pet management on the well-being and quality of life of people and pets.
We expect to identify the factors that improve the human-animal relationship and the management of pets in an urban environment, as well as to initiate and monitor projects that use the aforementioned factors to evaluate the health and well-being of people and their quality of life.”
